the game tonight.

I was at a local place tonight talking to a norton officer. when he got a call asking for asstance at a ball game. They call for several officers. i believe they was 3 county sherrifs, 2 state, 2 norton. for croud control at the norton game tonight. because of the concern of a roit or something else because of what happened at the last game. does anyone else have any info on this.

I saw plenty of police at the game but nothing unusual happened while I was there. I left after the Coeburn game. The crowd really wasn't into it tonight as far as the Coeburn/Appy game it was fairly quiet even with Appy holding it's own and keeping it within 2-5 most of the game till the 4th. I don't know what might have happened during the Burton game except for Pound just put one on them.

I dont think anything happend after the burton game, I think burton fans were pretty quiet and ready to get outta there. They had the fire department up there to help direct traffic but other than that, nothing out of the ordinary.

Speaking of directing traffic something needs to be done about the parking situation at Clintwood. I know the tourny is there because they have the best facilities but they have no parking to accomodate a regular game let alone a four team tournament. From what I have seen Coeburn is bringing a big crowd everywhere this year and GC, PV and Pound travel well to. Although I was very surprised by the lack of crowd when GC came to Coeburn and I also thought the crowd at GC wasn't what you would expect. I guess GC doesn't have the following in basketball this year that they have had.

there were some pretty mad parents after the norton game. however i don't think that is the reason for all of the police. i'm not sure why the norton police were there other than the coeburn police couldn't make it. it may have been different if norton and coeburn were playing but i think this was just a safety precaution because there was a packed house.

Parking is a problem.

To alleviate some of the problem, Clintwood is offering shuttle service from a couple of different locations.

From the Kingsport Times-News...

I'm not sure the shuttle service will help, but I don't know what else they can do.

how come the norton parents were mad man? I mean [censored], they got their [censored] handed to them and I didnt see anything dirty from either team. If they were mad about losing, then thats just [censored] poor sportsmanship and sour grapes.
